If any of you have been following my story, then you know I’ve been going through a huge life-changing experience through a life coaching course. And if you’re new here, check out my posts Do This One Thing to Change Your Life, Why You Need a Life Coach Right Now, and How to Become an Unstoppable Woman.
I’d like to write my final story about the Unstoppable Woman course.
I recently wrote about the huge impact Lindsay has had on me and my life. I’ve told you about how amazing her Life Luvers course is, and I’ve touched on the beginning of the Unstoppable Course, but now I want to update you with where I’m at having finished the course.
I am a different person.
How many of you can say that after the traditional therapy most of us go through; that society has taught us is the only way to work through our problems?
In only 12 weeks, Lindsay has shown me how to combat my past hurts, forgive, and become grateful for those hurts. She has shown me the power my Inner Mean Girl (the one I named Everest) had over me, and how to shift out of that mindset into a mindset of authenticity.
This is something I’ll be able to use for the rest of my life. She’s given me the tools to totally take life by the horns and kick ass. Life is no longer happening to me; it’s happening for me.
I can talk to you ‘till I’m blue in the face about how awesome Unstoppable is, but why don’t I back up those claims with some facts?
At the beginning of this course, we took a life satisfaction quiz and then again at the end. The score increased in all aspects, I’m happy to say!
No More Self-Destructive Behaviors
Before starting Unstoppable I had many self-destructive behaviors that would lead me to self-sabotage. Did you know I lost about 100 pounds 9 years ago, only to gain it ALL back when I moved back to my hometown? I knew there was a reason I self-sabotaged, but I couldn’t figure out what it was until I went through this course. I like to think of it as an awakening. My big SMART goal in Life Luvers was to lose weight. Yes, I lost about 4 pounds but as soon as Life Luvers was over I gained it back. It wasn’t until I was about half-way through Unstoppable when I was able to connect the dots and actually start to lose weight again. As of writing this post, I’m down 17 pounds in 6 weeks. My goal is a total of 60 pounds, and I know I’ll reach my goal.
By busting through my blocks, shifting out of my IMG, and living more in my authentic self, I’m able to put myself first. I KNOW I’m worthy, I KNOW my past does not define me, and I have forgiven myself.
Do you know how amazing that feels? To be able to get rid of all those blocks? Like, truly get rid of them? It’s like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
Learn to Be Grateful
I’ve also learned to be super grateful for everything that has happened to me. Without all of those experiences, I wouldn’t be who I am today. I no longer carry around anger, confusion, or guilt about these experiences. Instead, I can see how they shaped me into the person I am. Should things have happened differently? Yes, probably. Were they out of my control? Some of them. Because these things happened does it make me any less of a person or any less worthy? NO! Before Unstoppable, I would not have been able to say no.
Be Aware of Your Distractions
I have also greatly benefited from learning what my distractions are. Deep down, we all know we have distractions to keep us busy, so we don’t have to face our feelings. But they’re so ingrained in us we don’t even realize we are doing it. By being more aware of this, it makes it much easier to stop doing them. My top 3 distractions were
- Scrolling on social media
- Worrying about money
With drinking a close 4th (I really liked my glass of wine with dinner every night).
I’m happy to say I haven’t had a drop to drink in 6 weeks, I’ve reduced my time scrolling, and I’m still trying to be more aware of work and money. Baby steps…. But by doing this, it’s allowed me to feel my feelings and process them as they come instead of burying them.
Use These Tools for Life
The most incredibly awesome thing about this course is that I now have these tools to use for the rest of my life! Problems are still going to arise and I’m still going to have to deal with them. Now I’ll be able to address them, deal with them, and put them to bed before they have time to fester.
